Cobalt, Fanmade 3D Model

A fan-made model of Cobalt, the obscure, somewhat dimwitted older/younger brother of Astro Boy!

Cobalt is, for all intents and purposes, just a taller and more off-model version of Atom V2. He's got all the same functionalities, from the opening chest compartment and rear machine guns to the arm cannons and leg-mounted rockets. Most of his differences from Atom are from a more surface-level design standpoint. His design is a motley blend of his earlier, more Atom-esque appearance from his debut, and his later, somewhat Harveytoons-esque design from the later chapters and the anime adaptation. He has a much taller and rangier build, elongated cranium, and upturned nose, but he also retains the larger and much more conventionally anime-esque eyes. His cowlicks stick straight upward like "Batman ears" from a head-on view, but they are meant to be tilted when seen from a 3/4 view or side view. He also has a tooth gap, which is just a personal choice to make him him distinct rather than anything based on canon. To help visually distinguish Cobalt from Atom even further, Bellspiel and I decided to give him a yellow belt and blue boots. There are some pretty clever reasons behind the specific colors we have chosen, too; the blue boots are inspired by the color pigment "cobalt blue", which is created when cobalt oxide is sintered with aluminum oxide at high temperatures. The use of blue is also loosely based on his genderbent, "moe-fied" design from the defunct Tezuka-themed gacha game "Eshigami no Kizuna." Yellow was chosen for the belt simply because yellow and blue are traditionally considered complementary colors, as with Atom's red boots and green belt. Currently, he has only one outfit to choose from (the boots and shorts), but it is very likely that he will receive additional outfits in future updates.
