SCP - Comix Character Animations (SCP - CB Mod, 2018/2019)

Custom Character animations I did for my SCP - Containment Breach mod, SCP - Comix. The version of the mod containing these new assets has not been released publicly yet, but it will be in due time.

There is a substantial four year time gap between my work on the forest monster's official animations and the character animations for this mod, so I have learned a lot since then. While they are still not quite up to par with my current stuff, the improvement in skill is very noticeable. Just like the Forest Monster, these new animations were done using Blender, but differ in the fact that they were ported into Blitz3d using Milkshape 3D as well as a Milkshape 3D addon for Blender. To make the process easier for myself, I made sure that the new animations were the same length and duration as the original ones. I'm still happy with how a lot of these look, but I kind of wish I went about the IK chains of the legs and arms a bit better.

While doing these, I also learned a small amount about coding Blitz3D with the help of Juanpro, one of the leading programmers of SCP - Containment Breach. With the little knowlege he passed on to me, I managed to make a few small edits to the code simply for the hell of it, giving a number of NPCs alternate skins, as well as adding a few new entities such as Guard Dogs and SCP-1027.

Example of the animation workflow for this mod, using the forest monster as an example. The left one has the modded animations, while the right one has the vanilla animations.

SCP-966. In the mod they are nicknamed "donkeymen".

SCP-106.

SCP-1027. This NPC is unique to the mod, created using my very miniscule knowledge of the Blitz3D engine. It can be spawned via the console.

Forest Monster. To this day I still find it ironic that my animations for this thing in this jokey mod are better than my official work lol.

SCP-096. I remember having a field day animating my mod's version of 096. I'm especially happy with his running animations.

Guard Dog. This is another new mod-exclusive NPC that can be spawned with the console.

SCP-939. I still really like the moving spikes on their backs.

MTF "Variants" and SCP-049. I altered the code so that the MTFs spawn with wildly variable sizes and alternate skins. The MTFs and 049 were both voiced by my friend Jay.
